About Smoky Mountain Mailers

We know your customers - because we are your customers!

Becky, her son Ben, and their dog Willow (aka: Wilbur) - the family behind Smoky Mountain Mailers

Why We Started This Business

Hi, I'm Becky, and I'm a proud new DR Horton homeowner. When we moved into our brand new home, I quickly realized something: being a new homeowner in a new neighborhood means you don't know anyone yet—and that includes not knowing which local businesses to call when you need something done.

Our neighborhood Facebook group has been super active. Almost daily, I still see posts like: "Who do you use for fence installation?" or "Can anyone recommend a good (and dependable) lawn maintenance service?" These aren't idle questions—these are homeowners ready to spend money, they just don't know who to hire and/or who serves this area.

The Doggy Door Diva

Wilbur with a muddy nose after exploring her new half-sodded backyard - our diva dog who needed that doggy door!

Meet Wilbur - the diva who inspired our "we need these projects done ASAP!" list

Let me give you a real example from my own life. We have a dog—a total diva who has lived her whole life with access to a doggy door so she could go in and out as she pleased. But our brand new DR Horton home didn't come with one (none of the houses in our neighborhood came with one), and even if it had, our yard didn't have a fence yet either... and DR Horton only sodded half of the backyards for every home in our neighborhood.

So I did what every new homeowner does: I hopped into our neighborhood Facebook group and asked, "Has anyone installed a fence yet? Who did the install for you? DR Horton only had one company to refer." Within hours, I had replies - but no recommendations. All of the replies I got were "we need a fence too! let us know if you find someone - we didn't go with the one DRH recommended. WAY too expensive!"

Update: That was last November. We finally got our fence installed—and since then, at least three of our neighbors (the only ones we regularly talk to face-to-face lol) have asked us who we used and even got quotes from the same company (that only one DR Horton's site manager recommended). But guess what? They still don't have fences.

That's three households (that have told me directly) ready to spend thousands of dollars on fencing, but they're all just waiting for the right offer: a neighborhood discount, a referral deal, something that makes them feel like they're getting a good value - but our HOA doesn't allow flyers or door-to-door sales, so no one's bringing quotes directly to them.

But what if you could bring your offer right to their mailbox? That's exactly what we do. A professional, high-visibility mailer puts your business—complete with your promo, your credibility, and your contact info—directly in front of homeowners who are actively ready to hire. They're not passively scrolling online; they're sitting at their kitchen table looking at your ad, knowing you serve their area, and ready to make the call.

This isn't just about fencing. It's about all the projects these homeowners want to spend money on right now—landscaping, painting, sprinkler system installations (nope we didn't get those either 😭), HVAC, pet and vet services, even hairdressers and nail techs, and more. The demand is there. You just need to show up where they can find you.

This Is Personal for Us

I know your customer because I am your customer. I've lived the experience of moving into a DR Horton home, not knowing the area, having a neighborhood full of neighbors who are in the same situation (EVERYONE is new to the area!) and therefore can't offer any recommendations, and scrambling to find trustworthy local businesses for everything.

That's why I started Smoky Mountain Mailers—to help small businesses like yours reach homeowners like me at exactly the moment they're looking for help.

My son, Ben, is part of the team too. He helps with graphic design, sorting mailers, and handling post office runs for Zone 1. This is a true family business, built on the simple idea that when you understand your customer's needs because you've lived them yourself, you can create something genuinely helpful.

Our Promise to You

We've already done the hard work: digging through USPS routes to find only the routes that are anchored by and include at least 1 DR Horton neighborhood, researching new developments, and staying on top of which communities are approved for development or have started selling to brand new homeowners. We understand the move-in timeline, the common pain points, and the services that homeowners need most so we can connect you with the people who truly need you - NOW.

When you advertise with us, you're not just buying ad space. You're partnering with people who genuinely understand your target customer—because we live in these neighborhoods, we participate in these Facebook groups, and we know firsthand what new homeowners are looking for.
